Phuket Yacht Haven
Phuket Yacht Haven is northern Phuket's primary deep-water marina, providing 332 fully serviced berths for vessels up to 100 metres along the sheltered channel of Laem Phrao. Situated on the island's northeastern coast facing Phang Nga Bay, it accommodates everything from ocean-cruising catamarans to international superyachts.
Established in 1997, the marina operates as both a functional marine operations base and a relaxed shore-side destination. Its natural channel location provides direct, round-the-clock deep-water access across all tidal states, avoiding the strict tidal-window restrictions that affect shallower east-coast basins. Boats set out directly into the sheltered waters and limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay, drawing circumnavigators, private charter fleets, and long-range cruising crews from across the region. Ashore, the marina maintains an unhurried, working-waterfront atmosphere distinct from the crowded holiday towns of the west coast. Non-sailing visitors frequently spend two or three hours here for a meal or drink overlooking the docks, watching boat movements along the pontoons.
The site suits independent travellers seeking a quiet waterfront lunch or dinner, charter guests coordinating island itineraries, and visiting crews provisioning for Andaman Sea voyages.
What's There

The marina waterside features nine serviced pontoon docksβdesignated docks A through G, M, and Oβwith over 330 berths accommodating vessels from small cruisers up to superyachts exceeding 100 metres. Pontoons are equipped with fresh water connections, high-amperage electrical hookups, and fuel services. Access along the pontoons is restricted for security, requiring an electronic keycard issued by the marina office, backed by 24-hour security patrols.
Overlooking the pontoons and the channel, The Deck Restaurant operates as the main social hub on site. This open-sided bistro prepares a menu balancing Thai noodle and curry dishes with Western comfort food, alongside fresh juices, draught beer, and coffee. Operating hours run daily from 07:30 to 22:30 during the high season, closing earlier at 20:30 in the low season. Air-conditioned shower blocks and changing rooms sit immediately adjacent on either side of the restaurant.
Shoreside, the clubhouse and cliffside buildings house administrative offices, yacht brokerage firms, and marine supply chandleries. Recreational amenities include an air-conditioned 120-square-metre gym and an outdoor swimming pool. Nearby, The Heritage Houseβa preserved wooden Thai residence within the groundsβhosts private gatherings and wellness sessions, as well as the weekly Sunrise Market held on Saturday mornings between 06:30 and 10:30. Electric buggies run regularly to shuttle visitors between the upper car parking area and the water's edge.
Getting There and Logistics

Phuket Yacht Haven sits on the Laem Phrao peninsula in the northern sub-district of Mai Khao, roughly 10 to 15 kilometres northeast of Phuket International Airport and 40 kilometres north of Phuket Town.
Taxis and ride-hailing apps such as Grab and Bolt provide the simplest route to the marina. An on-demand car from the airport costs roughly 400 to 600 THB (Β£9 to Β£14) and takes 15 to 20 minutes. From western beach towns, travel times and fares rise noticeably: a journey from Bang Tao takes around 40 minutes, while Patong lies roughly 50 kilometres to the south and requires 60 to 75 minutes, with fares generally between 800 and 1,200 THB (Β£19 to Β£28). Those driving a hire car or scooter should follow Route 402 (Thepkrasattri Road) north before turning east along the signposted rural approach road to Laem Phrao. Free visitor parking is provided by the security entrance, where electric buggies shuttle guests down to the water. Public songthaews running along Route 402 do not divert onto this headland.
General entry to the marina grounds and The Deck Restaurant is free of charge. Security access cards control the gated ramps leading down to the private pontoon berths, keeping the working docks secure. The restaurant takes both cash and major credit cards. A late afternoon visit works well for watching incoming vessels moor up before sunset as the daytime heat cools.
