This recognition places a previously less-known location among prominent international coastal destinations, impacting British expats living in or considering Thailand.

Once a secluded spot requiring a jungle trek, Banana Beach has undergone significant development. A formal car park, modern toilet and shower facilities are now in place. The beach operates with a dual approach: one end features a beach club with sunbeds, while the southern end retains a quieter, traditional Thai dining experience. This transformation means easier access for British residents, but also signals a likely increase in visitor numbers.

The beach earned its ranking for offering a comprehensive day out. Activities include snorkelling around coral reefs, wave boarding, and beachside massages, concluding with food and drink by the water.
