The monthly Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan heavily impacts the Southern Line railway and connecting Surat Thani ferries. Attendees usually depart simultaneously the day after the event concludes. This creates brief but intense transport bottlenecks on routes shared with Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Furthermore, premium travel options demand extensive forward planning from expats expecting higher comfort standards. First-class sleeper train compartments, which offer private lockable cabins, are extremely limited. Most trains feature just one such carriage. These berths, alongside high-speed regional ferries and direct flights, typically reach full capacity two months prior to departure.
